ANKYLOSAURS
Ankylosaur tooth Ankylosaurs (the clade Ankylosauria) were a group of heavily armored, tank-like, plant-eating, ornithischian dinosaurs from the latter half of the Mesozoic. They were ornithischian dinosaurs (bird-hipped dinosaurs) and Thyreophorans (armored dinosaurs).

DIET:
Ankylosaurs ate low-lying plants. Until some Ankylosaur coprolites or fossilized stomach contents are found, their exact diets remain unknown. Some of the available low-lying plants from the late Cretaceous period include: ferns, shorter cycads, horsetails, smaller club mosses, shrubby conifers, and/or the newly-evolved flowering plants.

WHEN THEY LIVED:
The various Nodosaurids lived from the late Jurassic period to the late Cretaceous period. The various Ankylosaurids lived from the mid to late Cretaceous period.
