Quadratic Equation: ax2 - c = 0

Solving Quadratic Equations with No Linear Terms:
There are many ways to solve quadratic equations. The easiest type of quadratic equations are in the form: ax2 - c = 0 (having no linear term, that is, no x1 term). This type of equation is also called a pure quadratic equation and is easily solved by adding c tot each side, dividing each side by a, and then taking the square root of each side.

For example:

Some quadratic equations are slightly more complex, like ax2 + e = dx2 + d. This type of problem is also simple to solve. The first step is simplifying the equation by combining like terms (combine the squared terms and the numbers). The equation is then solved like the previous example (in math, problems are often solved by reducing them to a type of problem that you already know how to solve).
