|
Dear JC,
As an ex-regular of this forum and somebody who is, unfortunately, unable to
get his parents to spend a measly sum of twenty dollars to support this site,
it is quite distressing to see that some of those who have the privilage of
expressing their views in this forum have apparently regarded this an outlet
to discard all forms of rational and civilized behaviour.
Other then censorship, which is somewhat distasteful, prehaps I might suggest
that you implement the method the Dinosaur Mailing List uses to rein in
wayward members who have an overly inflated sense of self: A timeout. Prehaps
once an individual starts going off a tangent, and disregards warnings to
exercise some respect and though, a timeout of an suitable of time may
encourage them to think over their views more carefully, and remind them of
the fact that nobody likes to listen to an individual who expresses his points
in an overbearing, egomanical, and irrational way. Respect would be a good
thing to instil in certain individuals observed in this forum.
With all the best regards to Enchanted Learning, I hope you consider this
suggestion as a possible policy to implement.
Still a faithful fan of ZoomDinosaurs,
Mike

Despite my aversion to censorship, you've finally done it. You may not have found your theories about who owns what (and why) to be insulting, but I do. I'm sure there are many other sites you can find on which you can post your religious theories. On this site, either post about dinosaurs or don't post at all. JC

The only North American sauropod from the Late Cretaceous."
Aha! There's some stuff off the Dinosauricon - that should help.
Sauropod evolution: The Vulcanodontidae and the Indian Barapasauridae where
the first true sauropod families to evolve, in the early jurassic.
By the late jurassic they had evolved into six main groups, the Diplodocidae,
Dicraeosauridae, Euheloponidae, Cetiosauridae, Brachiosauridae and
Camarasauridae.
But by the cretacious, as plants started overtaking dinosaurs in the
evolutionary arms race, many herbivores where replaced by more adapted
animals, better suited to cope with plants that fight back.
This is quite a simple explanation, this site probably contains a lot of more
detailed information on sauropods.
Alamosaurus Gilmore, 1922 [nomen dubium?]

Sauropsida

Ornithodira
Dinosauria
Sauropodomorpha
Sauropoda

Titanosauria

Alamosaurus is the last ever known sauropod dinosaur - being from the
maastrichtian, Alamosaurus probably died in the great K-T extinction along
with T - Rex and other late cretacious dinosaurs.
So most of the above groups died off. But the sauropods wheren't over yet: The
Titanosauridae where a large group mainly present in South America, and there
is another group which is quite badly known, the Opisthcoelocaudidae.

Jeez, I am so glad that YOU don't think I'm evil Gianna.
Over the months I haven't been presenting myself so well I don't think...
Alamosaurus - I'll do some surfing, but shorthand I know the following:
Alamosaurus, named by Gilmore in 1922, late cretacious titanosaurid sauropod,
most titanosaurids, including I think Alamosaurus, had dermal oscicles, plates
and knobs of bone embedded in their skin as protection, and Alamosaurs had a
pair of little horns above each eye if I am not mistaken. About 21m long I
think, about Apatosaur size.

"If you don't want to be seen as an "evil monster

groups of people. You are very mistaken in your generalizations about
Americans and Jews (and probably other groups, as the many e-mails I've gotten

think about where you learned your negative ideas about these groups of
people, and why you haven't questioned some extremely simplistic stereotypes.
Apparently you at least realize that some of your statements echo anti-Semitic
Nazi propaganda - and that in itself should alarm you. And no, I don't like
the idea of censorship because then we would not know the thoughts of the
people who threaten civilization (and they are the ones we most need to be
aware of). Going back to the topic of dinosaurs would certainly be a relief -

So I threaten civilisation? Oh dear... I don't think you quite understood my

That's a difficult argument. Although there are supposedly many sites which
are actually very undesirable, such as pornography and Nazi sites, (I'm sure
that as soon as you saw my post you had a very stereotypical view of me as
some evil monster who hates Jews and Americans. That's a very mistaken view of me) in a democracy shouldn't we in theory be allowed to do what we want as long as it does not harm others? And the internet contains many very innocent sites.

Yeah. Lets never return to politics again. We won't understand each other;
lets stick with a less imflamatory subject. I'm lucky that Honkie and the HRF
aren't here; they'd have given me hell about my posts.
Well, I surfed a little bit and the general trend seems to be about 56km/h,
(that's 35mp/h) and I would be inclined to agree with that. That's racehorse
speed, by the way. Gallimimus had lots of big muscles around it's femur, and
the tibialis anterior muscle which bends your lower leg back towards the femur
seems to have been very powerful. And the metatarsals have been greatly
strengthened to endure big forces.
And if you think that my post will cause people to be displeased with your

Hmmm... I have to wonder where you got this idea. I'm not saying it's wrong,
foolish, etc., but I live in the U.S. and since you're saying that the

"How fast do you suppose Gallimimus ran?"
Well, since by studying its footprints most people have come up with a top
speed that would be slightly slower than that of an Ostritch for
Dromiceiomimus, I'd assume that Gallimius would be slightly slpwer, since it's
larger and heavier. But then again, it would have a longer stride than it's
smaller relative, and like Ostritches and Emus, Ornithomimisaurs were probably
"striding walkers" who's speed depended partly on the great length of their
stride. But it's generally excepted that Dromiceiomimus was one of the
fastest, if not the fastest dinosaur. So I would say somwhere in beetween
30-45 as a maximus speed for this dinosaur.

1) The people I am saying are involved are a tiny minority of the populations

Alright. The press never gives the 100% truth.
For instance, Tom G actually beleived that serbs used ethnic cleansing and
killed hundreds of civillians. OK. Many people beleived that.
Now you all know that terrorrists don't wear uniforms. That would be plain
stupid if they did.
Serb armed forces often had to deal with men in civs shooting at them with
automatic weapons. Muslim terrorrists, similar to what recently attacked the
USA. Of course, they defended themselves, and killed them. Or sometimes the Serb police raided houses where armed and very dangerous terrorrists where holding out. It doesn't matter which.
The point is, they stacked up the men they had shot. Leaving them lying around
is unthinkable. They put the weapons in a separate pile, or confiscated them.
Also, Muslim terrorrists often kill each other. Rival groups, or Muslim
terrorrists killig Muslim civillians to take their food and property. Or
terrorrists killing their own people who don't support them enough.
But of course, almost all the Muslims there hate the serbs, so CNN film the
wailing widows who heap the blame on the serbs.
Also, and please don't ask me for proof, it is very likely that the US
government supported the Muslim terrorrists in certain countries. Of course,
in Israel, because all the rich resource mining companies practically own the
USA, (It isn't Bush's plan to drill for oil in Caribou calving grounds, it's
the companies and they are all owned by Jews), the Israeli Jews are supported
by the USA, (and subsequently practically the whole UN. What is the UN? The
USA and almost everyone elso, who all do what they're told, apart from Russia
and China, and a few others.)
Now that the terrorrists turned on the USA in the tragic 9/11 incident, where
totally innocent people where killed, if the theory is true then the USA have
stopped helping any terrorrists now that they realise what these people can
do.
But the point is that the US government does whatever it wants anywhere as
long as the USA is benefited. In Serbia's case, the USA want it to be split
into tiny countries, all dependent on the USA for existence, and the USA could
then buy their raw products very cheaply. Playing on human greed: they split
up the country and give the pieces to greedy little politicians who want power
but end up depending on the US entirely. That way the US ensures there's no
competition.
And the act I was talking about was something you should have been taught
about that the US did to Japan.
Please don't take this personally, the vast majority of the population has
nothing to do with any of this, and then again I might be wrong, (although I'm
sure I'm not,) and I have nothing against the American popultaion like you.
Actually, I think we ought to concentrate on Dinosaurs now. I really am
straying off the topic entirely! This isn't a politics forum, after all.
BTW: Some of you may want to attack me viciously because of this post. Before you do, though, please take the time to think what that will acheive. If you think this post is too inflamatory, then of course feel free not to post it
