Tim M how long are your terms in America? we have 10 weeks in a term then 2 weeks holiday (apart from the Christmas/Summer holiday).
from Tom G, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 29, 2002

"why do "3rd formers" start High school in the middle of a term?"

They don't...its the begining of the 1st term here (i've just had my summer holidays). Is your first term in the middle of the year?
from Tom G, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 29, 2002

"I think that Therinzinosaurs had feathers too."
So do I. I don't think the whether was getting colder, but it's not only birds that live in Cold whether that have feathers!
In fact, I think there may have been some evidence of feather-like structures on Beipiaosaurus. I read about it in National Geographic. I'll go chack later.

from Tim M., age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 29, 2002

"Junior High school?"
The school system is very different in N.Z. In fact, there are many subtle differences in beetween all of the english speaking countries.

By the way Tom G., why do "3rd formers" start High school in the middle of a term? (Maybe the terms are different there too) because I'm in the middle of my 2nd term, and newcomers usually come after the Summer vacation or in between terms.
from Tim M., age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 29, 2002

"YEAH...BRITAIN ISN'T KNOWN FOR ITS WILDLIFE IS IT"
When I think Britain I think: Trafalgar square,Big Ben, London Zoo, Wesminster abbey, Queen Elizabeth two, etc...
When I think New Zealand I think: sheep, ANZAC day, wild animals, and Wellington.

I think Tom G. is right, there are no Kookuburras in N.Z., only in Australia I believe.
from Tim M., age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 29, 2002

I'm going to answer this how you answer messages da masta because its easier

"You know Tom G, in NZ you've got loads of really cool and unique animals. Right? What's it like? Ecologically speaking?*YEAH ITS REALLY COOL. THE ONLY NATIVE NZ MAMMALS ARE BATS SO NZ IS A BIRD COUNTRY. BUT I'VE NEVER SEEN MOST OF THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE ENDANGERED AND SOME NATIVE ANIMALS (LIKE THE TUATARA) NOW ONLY LIVE ON OFFSHORE ISLANDS* You've got possums*NEW ZEALANDERS DON'T TEND TO THINK OF POSSUMS AS SPECIAL (MOST NEW ZEALANDERS ACTUALLY KIND OF HATE THEM) BECAUSE THEY ARE THE ANIMAL (APART FROM HUMANS) THAT DAMAGES NZ WILDLIFE MOST FROM EATING BIRD EGGS AND KILLING ENDANGERED NATIVE TREES LIKE RATA AND KAURI. ITS REALLY SAD LOOKING AT THE BUSH AND SEEING LOTS OF WHITE STUMPS OF DEAD RATA AND KAURI TREES KILLED BY POSSUMS* and frogs of the leiopelma genus (related to some of the most primitive frogs on earth, the tailed frogs.)*YEAH ONE OF THE SPECIES LIVES IN THE HILLS NEAR THE AREA THAT I LIVE IN* You've got Kakapo parrots, kiwis (the cutest birds ever,)*ITS COOL AT NIGHT WHEN I CAN HEAR KIWIS AND MOREPORKS BUT I'VE NEVER SEEN AN ALIVE KIWI BECAUSE THEY ARE VERY RARE AND NOCTURNAL* kookabarras,*THEY ARE AUSTRAILIAN. I DONT THINK THEY LIVE IN NZ* elephant seals and great white sharks.*SOME OTHER REALLY COOL NZ BIRDS ARE THE TUI,FANTAIL AND LITTLE BLUE PENGUIN* Britain has destroyed so much of it's wildlife that it is pretty terrible. At least we've got places like the peak and lake districts, and the Norfolk broads. And moorland. Without these this would be a terrible country for wildlife.*YEAH...BRITAIN ISN'T REALLY KNOWN FOR ITS WILDLIFE IS IT*"
from Tom G, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 29, 2002

Junior high school? Because 12 is kinda young for high school.

Here in NZ we start High school in 3rd form (3rd formers are usually 12 or 13) and finish in 7th form (7th formers are usually 17 or 18). We don't have seperate ones.

"Da masta do you think Therizinosaurus had feathers? I think it did (I'm asking you because its your favourite dinosaur). I'll probably won't be able to post as much now because my first day of high school is tomorrow :O"

What?!? I'm well into my second term now! But I guess it's neither the same seasons or times of day in NZ. Is it early autumn/late summer in NZ then? I think that Therizinosaurs had feathers too. That's the way I imagine them, anyway, gigantic, big - clawed foliage strippers, (not with those straight claws though!) not unlike megalonychids and chalicotheres after them. Utterly cool. I bet a small group of _Therizinosaurus Cheloniformis_ could send a _Tarbosaurus Baatar_ back to it's mommy and leave them alone. I see no reason for large theropods not to have feathers. Especially late cretacious ones. Didn't the weather start to get colder in the cretacious? And with all those warm - climate adaptions, they sure could do with something to warm them up on a cool, cretacious evening. Although I like to imagine T - Rex and Utahraptor without feathery coatings of down all over them, I think that it may well be possible that they did have feathers.

"Continue it please!"

Sice it's so popular, I'll REALLY try to combat my laziness and try to get as many episodes done as I can.
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 28, 2002

I've read Tim's dinosaur fighting show. It's good. I've noticed that my DWF episode will be totally new and strange to the world of dinosaur deathmatches, it's more of a novel than a fighting show. Tim's dinosaur fighting show, Joe Bob's DWF and Billy MacDraw's DinoWarz are all short, quick, and don't have much by way of a storyline. Well, not in the Novel way.
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 28, 2002

"DON'T YO GUYS GET IT????

I'M NOT DOING A PROJECT ON ARCHAEOPTERYX, SOMEONE USED MY NAME!!!!"

I understood from the moment I saw it, I know your writing style. But I decided to help them anyway. Is that OK JC, or should I not reply to impostors?
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 28, 2002
That's up to you. JC

"Thanks for the info on tyrannosaurs Tim"
You're welcome.

from Tim M., age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 27, 2002

"So what do you think of my stories?

And the prologue to my first DWF episode?"

Ick, that's all I can say. It's really good, though. Continue it please!
from Gianna, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 27, 2002

DON'T YO GUYS GET IT????

I'M NOT DOING A PROJECT ON ARCHAEOPTERYX, SOMEONE USED MY NAME!!!!
from Gianna, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 27, 2002
I recently got another message from "Gianna" requesting Archaeopteryx info. If you want to stop the impostor, put your email address in with your message (I won't put it online). Also, did you (or the impostor) just send in a new dino fiction? JC

"You know, I was just about to post a pretty funny Dinosaur Fighting episode and it got deleted, darn! (how do you guys think of it anyway?)"

It was real fun, but I think that it would be WAY funny if the othneilia like killed the spinosaurus or something!

Nothing against spinosaurus, I like it even more than T - Rex actually, but spinosaurus has now been turned into something to make fun out of periodically by the Rex fans...
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 27, 2002

Wow, good that you liked the fiction everyone.

And I do think that "spelt" may well be a word but I guess it doesn't matter as long as everyone understands what I'm saying.
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 27, 2002

Thanks for the info on Tyrannosaurs Tim.
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 27, 2002

"Wow.
Since January 18th only da masta, Gianna, Joe bob B, Tom G., and I have posted."

Well it's fine for me!!!
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 27, 2002

"hey,
i need a few questions answered for my project. I HAVE SO LITTLE TIME LEFT NOW BEFORE SUPPER AND AN EVIL TEACHER BANNED ME OFF THE NET IN SCHOOL. BUT I'LL TRY TO HELP.
Was the Archaeopteryx succesful? NOT REALLY, IT WAS AN "EVOLUTIONARY DEAD END" BECAUSE IT BECAME EXTINCT AND DIDN'T EVOLVE INTO ANYTHING, BUT OTHER BIRDS EVOLVED FROM OTHER DINOSAURS MADE IT.
What kind of sound did it make (if any)?UH... TIM'S ANSWERED THAT HASN'T HE?
An Archaeopteryx's enemies? LATE JURASSIC GERMANY? LET'S THINK... COMPSOGNATHUS? EUSTREPTOSPONDYLUS? ANY SMALL LIZARDS AND MAMMALS THAT COULD EAT IT'S EGGS?
What was it's defense against these enemies? SINCE IT PROBABLY LIVED IN THE TREES MOST OF THE TIME, IT PROBABLY JUST GLIDED TO ANOTHER TREE HIGHER UP. IN THE CASE OF IT'S EGGS, IT PROBABLY JUST PECKED THE SMALL MAMMALS AWAY. I THINK THAT ARCHAEOPTERYX WAS 99.9% ARBOREAL SINCE IT WAS OBVIOUSLY MORE OF A GLIDER THAN FLAPPING FLYER...
Did an Archaeopteryx travel in groups or alone? I THINK ALONE... TIM'S PROBABLY TOLD YOU THE DETAILS. and
How did it take care of it's babies? WE DON'T KNOW. TIM'S PROBABLY TOLD YOU WHAT WE THINK BASED ON MODERN DAY BIRDS AND ARCHEOPTERYXES' ANATOMY.
Thanx. OK."

from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 27, 2002

"Here's a thought...
(I'm sure I'm not the first person to think of this)
Spinosaurus could have flushed blood into its sail, possibly for display or to warn other Spinosaurs."

This has been suggested for stegosaurs, which have many blood vessles in their plates before, so that seems perfectly logical.
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 27, 2002

I know how to say Nightmare in French! And that might help you da masta.
It's "Gauchemare"

Well, it's latin I need, but thanks. Maybe I could have events in France? Mutilated man says "Gauchmere" to the police who where alerted to the scene and dies? Mmm...
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 27, 2002

I actually wouldn't be so surprised if "spelt" was a word. After all,
there are many subtle differences in beeteen different forms of english.
(harbor-harbour; mom-mum; etc.)

from Tim M., age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 27, 2002

Well, we don't use "spelt" here. Instead we would say: "spelled neat and tidy."
from Tim M., age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 27, 2002

I liked the prologue to your DWF episode!
from Tim M., age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 27, 2002

"Hehehe...
Don't you mean "spelled right and neat and tidy"
I don't think "spelt" is a word...
But nothing against you, of course."

Spelt is a word! Well its definitly a word here (which means its probably a word in britan) but I don't know if it is in the US. its the past participle of the verb 'to spell', (so my english teaching sister says)
from Tom G, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 27, 2002

"So what do you think about my stories?

And the prologue to my first DWF episode?"

Man you're are a good writer...you're stories are really good

You know, I was just about to post a pretty funny Dinosaur Fighting episode and it got deleted, darn! (how do you guys think of it anyway?)
from Gianna, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 26, 2002

I'll try and help you with your Archaeopteryx thing, Gianna.
First, I'll do the questions that ca not be supported by evidence.

-It's impossible to tell what kind of sounds Archaeopteryx made, but they probably resembled those of birds.(Screeches, chirps, etc...)

I'd also say Archaeopteryx was fairly successful, I mean,it could have lived off lizards, mammals, and possibly insects. Or it could have scavenged like a raven.

As for enemies, it would be any Tithonian carnivore (From Europe) that could catch it! It could always fly up into a tree to avoid a predator, like pigeons do when a human walks by. However Archaeopteryx couldn't fly very well and might have had to run to escape enmies.

-There's no evidence that Archaeopteryx traveled in groups, but I guess we can't rule out the possiblity of them traveling in "flocks"

-We also can't know how Archaeopteryx cared for it's young. Again, you can refer to modern-day birds, who laid their eggs in a nest and that's where the young would grow up and so on and so forth...
from Tim M., age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 26, 2002

What?

I never posted that I was doing a project on Archaeopteryx! If you are another person with the name Gianna then please use your last initial or something. If you decided to impersonate me then please stop.
from Gianna, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 26, 2002

Horner's T-rex, "C-rex" is supposedly the largest of a group of 5 T-rexes Horner is excavating. It is supposed to be 10% larger than Sue, which would make it 44-45 ft. long and nearly 8 tons. Not only does this suggest T-Rex could grow bigger than previously thought, but it also suggest that they were mre common than previously thought.
To find more information, you can go to the science part of the BBC news page, or simply type in "the largest T-rex" or something of that sort in your favorite search engine.

As for "Rigby's rex" you can look at my earlier post to T-master, or you can type in "Rigby's rex" on a search engine.

I was looking at the archives when I noticed something I hadn't noticed before:
"(thanks for the expression, Tim)"
Well, I'm glad you liked it.
That brings the total number of people who use this expression to two!
I made it up myself, because the typical "welcoming commitee" phrase was getting sort of tiedious... People use that expression so much here!

Don't worry Gianna, I do like T - Rex myself.

If I make Razorclaw and Slasher kill T - Rexes with ease it won't be as interesting as if I tried to put some suspense into it.

"Of course, Gianna! Razorclaw and Slasher would kick T-rex's big fat... Sorry. I would've said that if things were like before, with all the nasty little buggers that insulted raptors. You had to hit them right between the eyes with insults, because facts didn't work on them. Wait a minute, "nasty little buggers"? "hit them right between the eyes"? What am I talking about?!!!!"

I can understand your anger. I was the main target of the swarm during the Dinotalk WW3, simply because I was someone easy to attack. I said many controversial things...

from Tim M., age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 25, 2002

This is an excerpt of my first DWF story. Looks much too easy, doesn't it?

"It's time for the big fight folks! Razorclaw vs. T-rex!

Razorclaw:Let's get it on!

T-rex:Fine with me! (Bell rings)

WHAP! (Razorclaw gets hit by a vicous tail swipe!)

Announcer: Razorclaw is dazed but okay!

Razorclaw: Hard, but not hard enough! (dodges another tail swipe)

T-rex:Give up yet?

Razorclaw:No way! (After this, the fight is a blur)

SLAM!!!!!!!(There is a reverberating crash as T-rex is knocked off his feet)

Razorclaw:This will be the last thing that you see!

SLASH! (Razorclaw beheads T-rex)

Referee(Who has been out of the ring since the fight started):Razorclaw is the winner, and in only one round!"
from Joe Bob B., age almost 11, Menlo Park, ?, ?; January 25, 2002

I may not be able to post every day now because an annoying IT teacher has robbed me of my internet access at school because I went on this site every day there. Unfair, isn't it? And the next DWF episode by me will only be out by around, about a week and a bit? But it'll be quite long and I'll have to transfer what I've already written at school to my home computer so that I'll be able to post it. Alright, I'll reveal a bit more. The remote DWF building used in these fights will get beseiged by Rex Supporters. And whatever horrors they create. The Animantarxes are just demolition tools...
